Applying to the Skilled Worker Oversea Stream through the Express Entry Program

To apply for the Skilled Worker Oversea Stream, you must have an Express Entry profile which is linked to Manitoba’s PNP. Candidates receive an invitation to apply or a Letter of Advice to Apply when they have met certain requirements such as;

  • Must fall between the age of 21 to 45;
  • Demonstrate employability and adaptability;
  • Have a diploma, degree, or certificate from the completion of a post-secondary study or training program of at least one year in length;

Human Capital Pathway

This pathway was introduced in November 2018, with this pathway, candidates who have the skill and work experience to work in the occupation the province is demanding.

The Human Capital Pathway will not be aligned with the Express Entry system, so potential candidates do not need an Express Entry profile and will not receive 600 CRS points if their application to the MPNP is successful – instead, they may apply directly to the Canadian government for permanent resident status.

Candidates are also expected to submit an Expression of Interest profile to Manitoba to determine candidates’ eligibility in various immigration categories. Candidates are scored pointed from 0 to 1000 based on work experience, education, language ability, adaptability, and other factors.

Candidates who score highest are issued Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) during the provincial draws.
